MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Russia’s trade surplus in the first nine months of 2024 exceeded 10 trillion rubles ($101.7 bln), Deputy Head of Federal Customs Service Sergey Shkliaev told TASS.
“Russia’s export surplus is positive, having exceeded 10 trillion rubles by the end of nine months,” he said.
“I would like to note that the activities of the Customs Service are aimed at best support of steady development of Russia’s economy through introduction of new cutting-edge instruments, including information systems and approaches. This helps to create the atmosphere, which enables business to conduct its activities at a fairly high level amid challenging geopolitical conditions,” Shkliaev added.
Russia’s total exports in January-September 2024 slipped by 2%, he noted.
“Judging by the current trends, we see that we are at last year’s level. The decline equaled 2% in 9M 2024, those are absolutely comparable figures though <…> I would say that last year’s export trends persist now as well. In terms of numbers, export of goods amounted to over 28 trillion rubles in 9M 2024,” the official said.
