
MOSCOW, 13 February. /TASS/. Negotiations on an agreement on creation of a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been completed, Trade Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev said at an international forum held within the framework of the Russian Business Week organized by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
“As for the agreement with the United Arab Emirates, we have it ready, the negotiations have been completed, our internal procedures are underway, and of course we aim to sign the agreement this year,” he said.
The minister also noted that the interest of international partners in trade cooperation is very high. “Today we are implementing the agreement with Iran on free trade, an unprecedented agreement for Iran with the highest level of liberalization <…> we hope that the agreement will come into force literally in the coming months, after Iran completes its technical procedures,” Slepnev said.
According to him, this agreement is also assessed within the context of filling the North-South transport corridor with economic content. “We see here that we are reaching a new level of cooperation,” he concluded.
