MEXICO CITY, March 5. /TASS/. The Mexican tequila bottling industry will suffer serious harm from duties imposed by US President Donald Trump, the AFP news agency reported.

According to its information, the US imported more than two thirds of Mexican tequila produced last year or 335 mln liters from almost 500 mln. The US market accounts for 83.6% of tequila exports from Mexico and stands at about $4.5 bln.

US duties may affect the entire supply chain from agave supplies to producers of bottles and carriers, the news agency said. More than 100,000 workers are employed in this sector in Mexico.
